Okay, let this be a lesson to you all. NEVER give a specific date.

If you deliver when you said you would every one just thinks, “Big deal, that’s what he said he was going to do.”

If you miss it, you look like you’ve failed.

Guess which camp I’m in today?

    Sorry, no 13.0.4 yet.

It should be up tomor… uhh… REAL soon! Yeah, that’s it.

We had a few last-minute scares today so I held off on releasing to be sure they weren’t show-stoppers. All were false alarms.

    We will post 13.0.4 tomorrow.

    Fixed in this release:

    – Audio acquired via HDV with QuickTime v7.6.2 installed now plays back correctly.
    – Analog acquire (broken in v13.0.3) is fixed.
    – Export to After Effects now works correctly with After Effects CS4.

    Hey Marc,

It’s a bug. We introduced it with v13.0.3 when we added support for the AJA LHi card.

We’ve already got a fix, I expect to release 13.0.4 on Monday the 6th.

or… it COULD be the “Fonzie Effect”, an unprovable yet well-known phenomenon in Tech Support circles.

Remember how Fonzie used to “fix” the jukebox by blowing on his fist and hitting it? I’m not saying that Wick = Fonzie but… it’s working now isn’t it?

    Michael,

I’d like to get some of your footage so I can give it a try and hand it off to my engineers if it’s not something simple.

We’re not complete luddites, we DO have a couple of the new phones in-house, but I’m already in touch with you and I won’t have to steal the Finance manager’s phone 😉

Send me an email at support@media100.com with my name in the subject line so I can get in touch with you.

    CJ,

I think Floh’s being a bit conservative in his answer ’cause he doesn’t want to step out of bounds and speak directly for the company.

You should definitely give our Sales department a call at 800-922-3220. They can explain to you exactly how your situation will work under Media 100 Suite.

    Hi Ralph,

I’ve done this before myself, and I just double-checked it before writing this reply.

1 – Drag and drop all your clips from a M100 Bin into a M100 Program.
2 – Export that Program to XML.
3 – Bring the XML into FCP.
4 – Open the resulting Sequence in FCP.
5 – Drag and drop all the clips from the FCP Sequence to a FCP Bin.

As workarounds go, it’s extremely painless.

    Andrew,

I just want to add my support for this idea. Getting off of QT 7.6.2 will almost CERTAINLY “fix” your problem for now. Of course, it’s not a long-term fix. We hope to have an update that is compatible with QT 7.6.2 made available very soon.

As for backing up QT, you don’t have a lot of options to back up TO.

It seems that Apple has pulled v7.6 from their servers. Perhaps you (or a friend) can find a QT 7.6 update disk image on a Time Machine drive. Failing that, your only other option is QT 7.5 or 7.5.5 but remember…

ONLY USE QT 7.5.5 IF YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE THE MEDIA 100 I CODEC OR THE MOTION JPEG-B CODEC.

    Hi Robin,

I’d be VERY surprised if your problem turns out to be some sort of incompatibility.

Those errors are Mac errors that directly point to a problem reading from disk. It’s vague, but usually ends up being some sort of corruption, either the media itself or the formatting of the drive.

Try isolating the drive(s) or the file(s) as the problem.
