    Hey guys,

    Sorry about the silence.

    Yes Andrew, you’re right, it’s June 😉

The truth is that the AJA LHi slipped us back a bit because it sports an entirely new driver (not just a slight re-spin of their v6.x drivers). The LAST thing we want to do is release M100 Suite and NOT support the LHi “out of the box.” I’m sure we can all agree that we’d get HAMMERED for that.

So… look for some LHi-specific news “real soon” and look for M100 Suite to follow shortly after that.

Sorry I can’t be more specific right now, but I’m probably gonna get in trouble for this post as it is.

    Hi Christopher,

Don’t feel bad, I couldn’t even find it on our old servers. I’ll have to dig deeper when I get back in on Monday.

I can tell you that by the time we got to the later versions, you could pretty much put the P6000 card anywhere you want. Having said that, the “official” position was farthest from the graphics card.

I am more concerned about the SATA card though. I can’t site any specific “known issue”, but anecdotally… it seems every time I spoke to someone with a SATA card, they were having drive-related trouble.

June 3, 2009 at 2:45 am in reply to: Quicktime 7.6.2

    Hi Harry,

We ran with it all day today and didn’t see any problems. We also haven’t had a sudden rash of support cases so…

We’re not quite ready to give it the official blessing yet, but it seems to be harmless thus far.

I suppose the one good thing that came out of the QT 7.5.5 mess is that we all know how to back up QT if we need to.

    Hi Jeremy,

That all sounds good to me.

May 29, 2009 at 3:06 am in reply to: batch reacquire audio problem

You can ‘force re-acquire’ the audio at the new sample rate as follows:

    – Ensure that the audio settings are as you want them to be.

    – Select the clips you want to re-acquire.

    – Hold down Option+Command as you choose “Batch Re-Acquire Selected” from the Media menu.

    – Continue holding the keys until you see the message that you’ve chosen to re-acquire using the current settings.

    – Then continue on to the Batch Acquire window.

    That oughta do it.

BTW – Option+Command is for audio. Shift+Control is for video. Hold down all four when you want to change both video AND audio.

May 22, 2009 at 2:58 pm in reply to: XDCAM import from backup

Have you got the latest version (2.9) of XDCAM Transfer?

It’s at the top of the list here: https://servicesplus.us.sony.biz/sony-software-model-PDZKP1.aspx

It looks to me as though the last couple of updates by Sony have addressed things like this. Either way, I’m using v2.9 with no problems, so it shouldn’t hurt.

btw – this link may “go bad” in the future. Sony has a way of moving this one around from time to time.

Another idea to consider is to back them up BEFORE you try to fix things. It seems that the media files still work OK, so you may want to copy them for safe keeping before going any further.

Try exporting as “QuickTime > DVStream” with the Color Range set to “0-255”.

May 13, 2009 at 2:42 am in reply to: New HDe system- help…..

    Hi Doug,

I wasn’t on the phone with you today but I did try to help Jon a bit with your problem.

I think something may have been lost in the translation re: your old M100i system vs. your new system. I certainly didn’t mean to imply that the hardware codec of the legacy system will have better image quality than the modern software codec as a rule.

Floh’s right, something else is wrong. Further, as a new customer, you are entitled to free support. We can definitely figure this one out. I will call you tomorrow.

    Gary,

Go with v5.1 NDD. You can find it at AJA’s Archived Software Driver page: https://www.aja.com/support/kona/kona-lhe-lh-archive.php
