Specifically I like to learn more about the Buffer Level, Buffer Size, VBR Data Rate and Data Rate Undershoot settings.

Thanks for the responses thus far; you’ve both been a real help.

Since most of my rendering will occur during business hours, there won’t be much benefit to the render farm strategy. I guess I’ll look into increasing the RAM (currently I have 2 GB), installing Nucleo Pro 2 and basically learn how to render smarter (low res outputs for preview, use proxies, etc.).

As our projects become more intense I’ll look into dedicated render farms, like the one Boxx Technologies has. I’m sure it will be unbelievably expensive, though.

Does the black hole issue only apply the AMD chipset? Also with Nucleo Pro is there an upper limit to how much RAM can be utilized. I’m using CS3 Production Bundle, if that makes a difference

I guess I could do that, but I though there was a print function within AE. Oh well…

Thanks… I forgot to mention the Enter button. What I’m looking at are the transitions from one scene to the next. Is this the masterwork of an application? I know projects like this take storyboarding, creativity, money and experience but I’m trying to understand how a project like this is assembled.

I tested it this morning and yes, the After effects PC read the avi files created by Raylight. Thanks a million!

If I understand Raylight correctly, it means that I can manipulate P2 media in after effects running on XP?

At least I know it’s not just me! So far the only reply from Red Giant is that I should try updating to 2.1 (which I had aready done). I’m currently re-installing After Effects as a shot in the dark. I’ll report back.
