NUCLEO + RAM + PCI Express and 32-bit WINDOWS
Ok, update for this (thought I should start a new topic)…
( old one at: https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/2/900923? )
Looks like I’m getting a hand-me-down macinhe from our 3D guy, while my boss messes around deciding when to upgrade to HD and thus me finally getting hold of an 8-core 64bit machine.
SO…I will now be using an AMD dual-core X2 4800+ system with a PCI Express enabled motherboard (I mention this because of the RAM black-hole thing?) running AE 7.0 on 32-bit XP.
I want to get Nucleo Pro and as much RAM as I can effectively use on 32-bit windows..so should I still go for 4GB or will 3GB give me just about the same? I am still a tiny bit confused as to whether if AE is using 2GB max will any other open apps (and OS) use the *other* 2GB between them? Or are ALL my apps and OS using the same 2GB chunk and only Nucleo using the full 4GB?
Sorry, I know this has come up a load of times but I’m still slightly confused.
Thanks for any advice,
