Very simple. Open project in V15. Ctrl-A (select all)–Ctrl-C (copy). Open V14 new project. Then Ctrl-V(paste). That’s it.

  • Yes you can–no problem. MOV’s and MP4’s are just containers. The important thing is the format of the video stream (e.g. avc) which in your case is the same. For V14, it shouldn’t be a problem since it should use the same decoder. Try it.

  • I looked at your initial screen grabs again and for some reason, you changed the project resolution (originally 1920 x 1080) down to 110 x 110–the size of your small image. Once you add the “small image”, make sure that your project resolution remains at its original size.

In any case, the best way to add a tiny image to the timeline without Vegas wanting to resize is to first create a transparent blank image in an external photo editor. Then add the small image to that and save as a png. Then you will have a 1920 x 1080 image that is transparent except for the small image that you’ve added on top. Then you are free to move the tiny image about using pan/crop.

  • Look at this thread.

It describes the problem you are having. This is the way Vegas works. Solutions are offered in the thread as well.

    Sergio,

Could you upload a short clip of the “problem” footage to something like DropBox? I only have the Hero5 which does not do hevc. Thanks.

    Sergio,
You’re not the only one with that problem.

    Hi Steve,

Glad that it’s of use to you. I’ve used it many times in the past.

Another super-simple script that you might be interested in is what I call “Add Marker”. Right now, you enter M and the name box pops up which you have to close unless you want to add a title. AddMarker does just that–adds a marker and no pop up text box. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll upload it.

    Hi Steve,

Hopefully, this will work for you. It involves 2 steps. First you need to place a marker anywhere within the event that you want selected. You can fast forward and simply hit the M button for any event you want to select. The screen will then look like this.

Then run the script “SelectEventsWithMarker” (which you can find at the same DB address) and the screen will look like this.

If you copy the selected events and then paste somewhere else, you will have the same spaces between events. Since you have Vegasaur (great toolset), simply select the 3 tracks and run the 1-click command–Close Gaps (selected tracks). You can also use their Markers dialog to delete the original markers.

Unless I’m not understanding what you want, just run the script SelectEventsFromCursor which select all events under the cursor and to the left.

    Hi Steve,
Sorry about the scripts I uploaded. Try them again. They are now compiled scripts with a .dll extension. I’ve tested them in V12 and V13, although they should work in V8 – V13. Let me know if there is still a problem.
