Mike.. then do i understand i bring song 1,2,3 etc.. into SF… normalize, etc.. -ending up with one wav file that is, say 40 min long for example…
then export that “entire” SF timeline as a “new” “wav” file ..
then bring the “new wav file” into CD – A and split the tracks back into each “recording” or track for the CD?..
also.. when making a master CD.. I’m not getting their ” process”… I’m used to building “Image” files” for my Bravo cd publisher..
how does CD Arch. handle this… ( would prefer to build an Image for Nero.. i only use the Bravo for printing anymore..
Bravo is too slow burning.. when I can do a stack of burners at one time. But boy can it crank the printing out!
thanks

February 20, 2008 at 4:02 pm in reply to: best way to normalize multiple audio tracks ??Hey Spot.. (save project to a new Veg File…) I did that!… ( saved the veg as a new file… )
OMG.. I can imagine deleting days of work just to find that something is screwed up in my “new audio file”…
thanks for the heads up.
Before.. it was a matter of taking my project and rendering it out as a new AVI file…
then bringing that avi file into vegas and editing a copy of the audio track in SF9.. normalizing the video…
at that point it just crawled when rendering the new ‘copy” of the file.
Doing it in Vegas as a rendered track worked great.. don’t know why i did not think of it earlier…
Thanks ..

February 20, 2008 at 2:38 pm in reply to: best way to normalize multiple audio tracks ??For some reason.. if i render my entire project to an AVI file.. and then take that file and process the audio.. even rendering was going to take all day.. so then It dawned on me…
… why not just render the multiple audio tracks to a “NEW TRACK” in vegas and delete the old ones ( after saving the veg as a different file name!).. then I applied normalization and compression to the new rendered file in vegas… not done yet, but the render time for the audio seems about right… rather than having 10 minutes go buy on a 1 hr timeline and only 7 percent of the rendered audio done… so.. this should have it…
render to new tracks in vegas and then render out avi backup and mpg from there.
thanks

February 15, 2008 at 1:57 am in reply to: since there is no sound forge forum.. i’ll post it hereHi Neil,
Yeah, I have SF 9.. so I can get more tracks.. but it “appears” that they are all locked to one envelope .. even going into the Volume envelope – there’s one line and it adjusts all tracks simultaneously.
So.. with that,,,, I’m working out of vegas for individual track adjustment and then using SF as the audio default editor.
Any resources on getting the most out of the Izotope tools. I’ve never really done much with normalization and compression.. probably an art in itself. most of what I do is live recording in churches – but i could probably use those tools to my advantage if they weren’t overdone.
thanks

February 14, 2008 at 5:32 pm in reply to: since there is no sound forge forum.. i’ll post it hereI hear you Mike…. ( Ive been doing that (Vegas) just to stay productive )
I just expected something more intuitive… I feel sorry for someone who buys this as a stand alone program. I guess for the Izotope plugins i got with it I can’t be all that upset.. even though the Izotope reverb plug in is a little weird.. i keep reverting back to sony..
But.. the Izotope multichannel compressor is really good!
But you’d think a dedicated audio editor would have more going for it. ( unless i am seriously missing something )..
It was a choice between soundforge and protools at the time…
since i do a lot of audio work also.OH Well…
thanks Mike.. TTU Later

December 29, 2007 at 2:24 am in reply to: Tried my 1st pro-animator render into Vegas.. NOW WHAT??Thanks… i was looking at track properties, but the procedure is to right click on the media clip, set media properties to alpha.. ( i was looking at the whole track but each clip has to be designated as alpha standard!
thanks…
I’m sure I’ll have more questions as time goes on but their training clips are a great start!
Happy New Year
