July 13, 2011 at 11:02 pm in reply to: Stationary objects ???

Here is what some kind editor suggested I do with my weekly programme and stationery objects.
    And it works …

    1. Create a separate project for all your promotional track material (this will be your template project).
    2. Make each title section (or stationery object) into a compound clip.
    3. Select all compound clips, right click and choose “lift from primary story line”.
That’s it, now you have a second “track” above the primary story line.

Now when you start your real project, you just duplicate you template project. Rename it and if you want to insert some clip to the primary story line underneath the compound clips you just press D (overwrite).

Thanks guys – the video scopes work well. The lack of colour wheel is a bit hard to get used to, but I’m getting there.
I do miss the drag and drop to get the attribute to multiple clips.
You can save the correction as a favourite, but you wouldn’t want to do that too often.

I can always use FCP 7 to see the results on TV. Basically I’m forcing myself to use X for everything in my projects if I can, so that I will learn the new programme, otherwise I would probably edit on the tried and true and not bother.
So far, I have nearly finished our weekly 1/2 hour project (all on X)
Yes, the NLE has had some spectacular crashes and yes I couldn’t have got this far without help from this forum.

Thankyou Brendan. That worked a treat!

You don’t happen to know the answer to question 2 do you ? (or perhaps that is the same answer as question 1)

True. I did have. Now it plays without the big “Render sign” across the canvas. Thanks

February 11, 2010 at 9:12 pm in reply to: Audio noise after converting with Sony Clip Browser

I get that too when I import the Clip browser produced MXF into Avid Liquid. So far I havn’t been able to edit footage from my JVC HM-100E

But as far as I can see Sony clip browser (V. 2.6) IS the latest version. Where can I get a version later than this which has addressed this noise problem, or conversely, where can I get some other software that cleanly unwraps the MP4 into MXF or down-converts to AVI without aliasing or jaggies?

    Cheers
