Question 1 – I have motion 4 titles I regularly use on the timeline of FCP 3. When I edit these I right click and open in editor, save and they appear in FCP 3.
I can open these motion 4 titles in motion 5, but how can I now use them in FCP X?
Do they have to be recreated from scratch????

Question 2 – If I open a “composition” in Motion 5 (that is .. one of the pre-designed titles like “atmospheric”), can it be published to FCP X?
If not, how do I copy the animated backgrounds in a new motion document that can be used in FCP X

    Any ideas ????

    Cheers

From inside motion you can open both your motion 4 and 5 compositions like you say, and to make them reappear back in final cut it’s not entirely obvious I found.

In Motion, select File / Publish Template

To have it appear in FCP X you need to tick the box Publish as Final Cut Generator.

Here’s hoping the simplify things and let us import Motion projects directly in FCP X like we use to be able.

    Cheers,

Thankyou Brendan. That worked a treat!

You don’t happen to know the answer to question 2 do you ? (or perhaps that is the same answer as question 1)

Sorry I didn’t make it clearer, but yes, the solution of publishing the template as a final cut generator applies to your question 2 as well.

    cheers,

    Brendan
