Have you tried to uninstall the software with the installer and reboot first. Then install the new software?

Go get another drive. Clone the current drive to the new drive. Update the new drive so you can go back. This is now a dual boot system. ☺

I opened a previous project with ProRes422 footage I brought in AMA linked. it opened and played fine in 8.9. I’m on a 2010 Mac Pro 12 core OS X 10.11.6.

You export the quicktime with audio and up load to Youtube. Youtube will automatically, using AI, caption the video to a text file with timecode and dialogue that you can download separately and edit any timing or mistakes. You also have the option in the interface to type in the correct dialogue yourself or paste it in.

Did the SD card fill up so it forced the rest of the video to only be recored to the CF card?

Any chance the lens is in MF mode not AF mode? There is a switch on the lens.

Where you shooting with an IS (image stabilization) lens and the IS was turned on? Usually you turn it off on a tripod but if it is on and a little wind rattles, it might try to counteract the movement.

Actually, not quite. The field of view (FOV) changes, so that 50mm had more telephoto look on an APC-H sensor. That’s why the manufacture calls it a crop factor.

Yes, the the lens focal length is the same. A 50mm is a 50mm. But the FOV– field of view changes. A 50mm on an APC sensor has a crop factor. That crop factor, 1.6 makes the 50mm an 80mm.
