I just did this with some footage shot with Canon’s XL-H1 with their 24F footage. Used the HDV 24p easy set up but changed the codec to ProRes 422 (HQ) and brought it in through firewire.
The footage was transcoded on the fly and looks great. And shows up as 23.98 fps.

This is what the 5.1 NDD fixed. They removed the Macintosh Desktop Display feature.

Funny I just did a demo of the JVC 24″. It was set up between two eCinemas. I have to say the JVC held its own against the $8000.00 model and the other eCinema that cost even more. The JVC’s black are black and the colors are accurate. I used the Panasonic 26″ and while it is a nice monitor, the black I felt looked milky and the was an inherent green cast to the blacks.
I like having the full raster 1920x 1080 image.

The easiest way would be to use a mixer. Each mic would go into its own channel and then you send the feed from both mic into the program you want to use.

If you are running a Kona 3 and Leopard get the new Kona 3 5.1 NDD drivers. This should fix that.

I just captured a film shot with the Canon XL-H1 HDV and via firewire brought it into FCP 6.0.2 as ProRes 422 HQ on the fly. I’ll be cutting it on a system with a Kona 3. But no more HDV I or P frames.
