That is exactly the uncertainty that I have. A lot more gb for a little less performance. What I am not sure about is if the difference in speed for the system/boot drive is meaningful to me with PP. Specifically, is the faster seek time that the Raptor has more important than the sustained throughput metric when considering drives for the op system?

If I went with the large drive instead of the raptor could I partition it and use maybe 150 gb for programs etc and a second partition with the rest of the capacity for projects. This could then free up the existing two drives in Raid0 for video clips.
