You can use the Dip to Color dissolve or use the Matte>Color, set it to white and transition to it.

Tony, I have the 1200A fully loaded with the Firewire and HD-SDI Options. Via Firewire control on Saturday (and in the past) I simply use the Kona 2 Easy Setup for DVCPro HD 59.94. Then switch deck control over to Firewire DVCPRo HD.
I’m going to test the RS-422 setup later to see if I really have edited to tape using that setting or just used that to capture and then Firewire control to edit back out to tape.

I’m not talking about deck to deck transfers. I’m talking about HD-SDI out of the Kona 2 to HD-SDI Input on the Deck. Right now we are seeing that HD-SDI yields a cleaner image back to tape than Firewire.

In theory it shouldn’t but that’s not what we’re finding here in the “real world” tests. HD-SDI recorded material looks significantly better than Firewire material so far.

Nobody that I know of is accepting files. It’s either HDCAM or D5 for the deliverable.

Walter D5 is a compressed format for HD and uncompress for SD.”Interesting as I’ve always heard D5 referred to as the “true” uncompressed HD format. I just looked at the operating manual and they refer to the compression for HD as 1/4 so I guess that’s 4:1. Thanks for the tip.
