Thanks but I’m in Montana… no stores here. Only online shopping.

Did you see the video link? That shows the amount of play. Is that minimal? It show up in the footage when focusing. Super scary as I’m heading to Peru on sunday and this is probably not getting resolved by then..

September 10, 2014 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Color shift Nightmare!!

So its pretty close in all exports…not sure if there is a setting I’m missing but when I export to MP4 it turns colors completely…

Mainly the issue is marketing want it the same color. I explained to them the difference in colors in computer variations and they kind of understand that. I am just being driven nuts by the fact that it’s a different color per application and format on the SAME SCREEN!!… Hoping there is something I can do to prevent that..

    Thanks again

January 28, 2013 at 4:56 am in reply to: Frame rate head spinner??

    UPDATE:

Ok IN FCP7 I am getting better quality on converted prores footage that matches the resolution in the timeline so 1920 footage in a 1920 timeline is great 1280 footage in a 1920 timeline looks bad. Same as 1280 footage in a 1280 timeline looks great but 1920 in a 1280 looks bad.

Did some exports and still looks as it does in FCP.

So I guess that theory or putting different sized shots in the same timeline is’nt best practice?

Now I’m worried. I guess I could shoot everything in 720p 60 conform everything to 24fps and speed up all the clips I dont want in slomo? But that seems unecessary.

January 28, 2013 at 3:45 am in reply to: Frame rate head spinner??

Hey Thanks for the reply, been hitting this hard for that last hour or so. Been some serious discussions about this but still looking for a confirm.

It’s sounding like if I were to export 1280×720 for web use I could use either resolutions- BUT make sure to conform to the 720p60fps footage to 24fps to match frame rates to either the 1920×1080 24fps or 1280×720 24fps timeline. Making sure the frame rate matches as the higher priority. I could use a 1920 or 1280 timeline with the same results.

New question now is can I export to 1920×1080 from a 1280×720 timeline with results good enough for big screen/film festivals?

If that would not be good enough, can I do a 1920×1080 24p timeline- bring in 720 footage then rescale it shot by shot? In the webosphere it sounds like people have done that with professional results? Seems to me upscaling like that would degrade quality?

OR?-Would it be better to mpeg streamclip the 720p60 footage to 1920×1080 60fps then CONFORM to 24fps to match the natively shot 1920×1080 24fps from my 6d? Not sure if this would be better than just rescaling in fcp?

Gawd! I’ve been at this part time for over 10 years and still head spinning

Yes I click either search files or reconnect either way it goes to the interface but does not allow me to select anything and just keeps beeping at me!!!

It looks like the media is there and if I press space bar it goes through the playing area but no resopnse when clicking anything with the mouse…

literally just taking the mess on the desktop and putting it into a folder…on the desktop. Should be straight forward. And the program is a fresh install as of 5 weeks ago. I would think it would be similar to FCP?

ANyway I’ll try to trash prefs but will give the cow a little more time to maybe find the answer…
