Thanks Mr. LaRonde,
I understand these constant questions from a noob can be frustrating sometimes. So feel free to ignore if you’ve said something that’s the answer and I haven’t picked up on it yet. Sometimes after something has been said I don’t pick up on it till reading it 2 or 3 times 🙂
But yes, I saved the file as a .png file against a transparent background.
Transported it into AE. Then allplied the 3D layer to it via the “layer” menu button.
I see the Z axis red bar on it and the Y axis green bar, but I can’t turn the graphic.

Thanks Mr. LaRonde,
* Make the graphic to spin into a 3D layer.
* Animate the rotation along the axis of your choice.
* Repeat as necessary. How do I go about making the graphic to spin in a 3D layer?
Where do I go to animate the rotation along the axis? I added a 3D layer to the project under the layer section. While waiting I was messing around with some other features.
I tried something else. Adding the lightning effect.
But when I render out the video I keep getting the black background.
It’s a PNG file I’m working with that’s been saved in PS with a transparent background.
This issues is talked about here in this thread:
https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/202/885166
For transparency, you want “RGB + Alpha”, is what I Read in another thread here.
===============I follow those steps and know where they’re talking about. But all my selections are greyed out. I can’t click on anything to change anything.

I know about the animation effects and presets to the right, but they seem to have put every type of animation in there except the 1 simple horizontal spin like a news bug.
AE CS4 is what I’m using.
Thanks

I can’t believe this. . .
I wish the masses would have seen what a mess BluRay was going to be, so that they would not have jumped on the BR bandwagon. Had everybdy listened to Jobs way back when he said, “BR was a big bag of hurt” we could have been making more HD DVDs.
DARN IT!

August 10, 2010 at 8:13 pm in reply to: Keeping animated gifs animated after converting?I read this post on it
https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/244/861975But when I bring in my animated gif I get a message from PS saying that it will only bring in 1 frame of the animated gif.
When I open up the animation pallete it shows the picture there with a number 1 in the corner of the picture, I’m assuming it means 1 frame of 1 frame since PS had that message.

Forgot to say what I would do after everything.
I’d export it back to DVD and drag the entire project on to our Princeton server to play back.
That’s why I’m wondering about all the conversions, compressions, and formats that would work best.

Mr. Wolsky & Mr. Suszko,
Thanks for the useful info. I figured photoshop but was trying to take an easy way out. Maybe the instructor I watched years ago did take it into photoshop and I am just recalling it wrong. Thanks again for the info.Vinnie
