    Thanks Mr. Ross, very helpful!

  • Awesome this helped me too. Only question I have. I still hear the scratch audio that was on track 1 (camera mic). I had my guy lavalieres on channel 2, and camera mic on 1. I was being lazy.

The Fill Left with Right worked, but the upper portion of the audio is still there. And I think I can still hear it, even though the other track doubled up in the audio meeter.

    Here’s what I’m doing.Only 1 min 10 seconds

December 17, 2015 at 10:20 pm in reply to: how do i save my project in final cut pro x?

We just cracked open a macbook and fcp. Super slow , beyond slow, upgrading abilities with a municipality.

    OSX Yosemite
    10.10.5

    FCPX 10.2.2

Ive read this thread, thanks for all the input. It auto saved the project I was working on just as somebody in this thread posted. What if I’m working on two or three projects? Where are they saved to? Same area? I see the xueewbrversion.fcpevent. When I click on it it’s just a document with a lot of scripts. I guess thats the auto save information? What if there are 3 other projects? I did the “reveal in finder” on a clip to open up the file folder. I guess I’m not looking in the same area where the project file is to open up? I did a search for “movies” and it only pulled up Imovies. I’ve never had luck with Apple Finder on our macpro and now this macbook.

Thanks Shane that did the trick! Would you be able to suggest something similar to the program that would fix Imovie? Whenever I import movies, the files get half way then the import just vanishes. It hasn’t always done this. I trashed the .plist and restarted the program but its still crashing.

“Oh, and the big thing was that it’s unclear whether my full company can share the stock assets or not.”

I work at a municipal office. I’m the only one that does video, but there’s a senior media tech that’s been moved to do more office and contractual related work with outside clients. He does videos very rarely. I still asked if he could use it if we signed up. DJ replied and said it’s one use per person, you can’t share accounts.

    Thanks Mr. LaRonde and Ross,

Mr. R. do you know if FCPX supports 1080/60p? If so I might finally be able to convince my manager to let us buy it.

That creates another question. Will FCPX work with 10.6.8 with FCP7 on it at the same time? Or is that crossing the streams?

April 14, 2014 at 7:48 pm in reply to: External monitors for Macbook Pro?

    Mr. Raghavan & Mr. Rofrano,
Thank you very much for your responses. I didn’t buy yet over the weekend but I plan to this week. Just to be OCD clear, everything you two inform of is current with the most updated 13 or 15 inch MacBook Pros? I was confused a bit about the superdrive no longer being part of the newest 15 inch, but still on the 13 inch. Do I really need a 15 inch if I’m going to be using an external monitor?

January 7, 2014 at 7:51 pm in reply to: Motion project vanishing inside FCP7

That’s what I did. Exported to self contained movie. Made sure the codec was right. Rendered all once it vanished, and it was still transparent. So I just went back into Motion, recreated the snow, but this time moved it over a little. It matched when I imported it, close enough for government work…
