Not time remapping, I know how to speed up the clip.

Sorry, that was a bad preview for an example. Here’s a better example and the original one I was thinking of but couldn’t remember.

Skip to 1:15 where they start intro’ing the actors, zooming up to them, changing the color, and putting the names next to their faces.

I know time remapping , pausing the video, keyframing it to zoom up to the screen. But while staying in FCP, isn’t there a way to do all that color effect.

The instructor did something super quick and easy. Maybe it’s what I mentioned above and just placing another layer over the video messing with the opacity and RGB color?

I’ve seen the Adobe TV site, but the tutorials there are so basic it’s hard to really learn from them. That site seems more like an advertising site for Lynda.com, which the city will not pay for.

I’ll also ruin my rep in the COWmunity by saying.. I kind of miss analog.

Remember drop outs in analog video. Just the anoying black lines every once in a while,but the video still played fine and you could still see it all.

Not so with blocky digital drop outs sometimes completely locking up. And you can’t look past it as easy as you could analog drop out.

Been having a slightly different issue with Mpegstream clip and Compressor both.

I have a program recorded to a DVD. There are 22 titles on this DVD.

It’s Title 16, and it has 3 chapters to it…

Both programs will recognize Title 16, the first part of it. But it will not see chapter 2, and 3. It only recognizes the first chapters of each title.

So if there is a title 16 with 3 chapters to it , or a title 17 with 2 chapters to it.. because of different recorder times that break up titles into chapters.. all that gets recognized is the first chapter.

Apple – 10.5.8
Stream Clip Version 1.9.3b1 (1.9.3b1)
Compressor 3.5.2

I recorded a SLP program to DVD using a Sony DVD recorder (consumer). I’m just wanting to encode stuff for the fun of it, nothing serious here. Most likely it’s a corrupt issue with the DVD itself.

Woops sorry. That was a pre-imptive post. I just figured something out. You can import picture files into live type. Applying the different effects to see which one works best now.

At first it would not let me edit the separate clips in to the middle of an existing time line. I kept getting an error message telling me, “Operation Not Allowed.” So after reading your response, I tried it again at the end of the time line and it worked. I then just copied & pasted what I needed in the spot it needed to be in.

Thanks everybody. I must not have been clear, sorry. At first I could only do 30 sec. (with the trial) but after we bought the full version, I did a full 30 minute program. I did something wrong, which screwed it up and made it look awfully grainy.

I’ll re-read all your comments and apply them.
