    Adobe Encore is Apple compatible

    Adobe FLASH is Apple compatible.

    I’m sorry to switch topics, but why did Apple not keep Adobe Premiere? Im I strange in thinking it’s strange that all these other Adobe programs work with Apple, but Premiere does not?

    I’ve been making the slow transition from a Windows world to an Apple world. The softwareS IZ all confusingS to me still.

    I also did not think BR was going to be as expensive as all the past speculation said it might be because there is already a Hitachi DZ-BD7HAF Bluray 5.3MP Camcorder on the market for consumers.

    Should BluRay for event videographers really be a high concern? Should I continue squeezing my wallet and not buying anything until affordable BluRay comes out?

    I have nightmares (figuratively speaking) of getting a system then everyone saying, “Oh you don’t do BluRay? Well we need BluRuy, BuhBye!” *CLICK*

    One person told me that even if I was still doing Standard DVDs that BluRay players were backwards compatible to play all DVDs even HD-DVDs. Is this correct?

    And the first person to reply said something about compressing HD down to BluRay. I thought BluRay was higher than HD. Why would HD need to be compressed to BR?

    I meant to type that since this is NOW considered an older camera. That W and T always get me when I type that word for some reason 🙂

  • $125 dollars an hour!? How many hours do they usually take to fix something? In this age of increased gas prices, food prices, all prices, I don’t see how that’s even a good thing. 150 to 125 would be like having to choose to have your hand stomped on or your foot stomped on. Not much of a difference.

    Thanks Mr. McGee,
    I can not argue with what you’ve stated. I just did not want to get any hate responses for saying it 🙂

    ECI video and some other mom n pop repair shops have been suggested to me. But price quotes have ranged from 800 to 900 dollars.

    If paying that means I don’t have to buy another 2000 dollar camera (for now), I’ll go ahead and pay it.

    It’s just trusting the workmanship that concerns me. I don’t want to pay that money and then the repairs be sloppy since this is not considered an old camera.

    Does this post get put back to the top when replied to? If not I’m not sure how people see it if it stays in the order it was posted . . which means it’s in the very back and people aren’t even seeing it now.

    BUT if that’s not the case and people do see it . . if you don’t know of anybody in the DFW area, is there a secret Batline I can call JVC at to get somebody to talk to me or return my calls when I leave a message?

    March 21, 2008 at 6:49 pm in reply to: Panasonic + JVC + Cannon + FCP = Not good?

    Thanks for the responses and suggestions. I’m not sure if it’s a problem with the deck.

    The video captures just fine when I capture it off a tape that was used in the JVC camera we have.

    At rare times I’m in situations when I have to use the GL2 or GL1 we have here. It only happens when I use those cameras.

    It always happens at rare times long enough apart for me to forget, then I remember . . OH YEAH, capture Cannon footage from the camera and it works . .

    I just wondered if when I get my own stuff if I need to not get a Cannon camera if I’m going to get JVC decks.

    What brand decks do you all use?

    March 5, 2008 at 10:55 pm in reply to: Live Type crashing FCP

    Sorry I did not reply sooner, I hurt my back at work pretty bad and have been away in lala land because of these muscle relaxers. The only thing that’s mattered to me in the past week is why the darn sky is plaid and where the heck did these elves come from?

    Anyway . . . Yup, I trashed FCP User Data and Plist. That did not help things.

    The versions of software I’m using are below.

    FCP = 4.5

    Live Type = 1.2

    QT = 7.4.1 v14

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Instead of saving the file, I just rendered it out as an MOV. I imported it that way and it did not crash on me. It is still crashing now when I try to import the Animated fonts (the default ones). I think I have the project from H E double L right now. Something must be buggy in this project, because this has never happened before. Other strange things have been happening with this particular project as well.

    Anyway again, thanks for any tips if there are any,

    Vinnie
