    I posted this in the Live Type forum, but just in case this is a FCP issue I’ll also post it here.

    For the past 2 days I create a simple animated font in Live Type , import it into my FCP program, and then FCP just vanishes.

    This is not a common problem at all, it’s only happened for the past 2 days in the past 1 1/2 years to 2 years that I’ve used it.

    Has this sort of thing happened to anybody else?

    I deleted FCP User Date and the Plist. That did help anything.

    Thanks for any info,
    Vinnie

    Post the versions of FCP, OS, and QuickTime you’re running.

    Have you trashed your preferences for FCP? if not try that.

    Sorry I did not reply sooner, I hurt my back at work pretty bad and have been away in lala land because of these muscle relaxers. The only thing that’s mattered to me in the past week is why the darn sky is plaid and where the heck did these elves come from?

    Anyway . . . Yup, I trashed FCP User Data and Plist. That did not help things.

    The versions of software I’m using are below.

    FCP = 4.5

    Live Type = 1.2

    QT = 7.4.1 v14

    Thanks for any suggestions.

    Instead of saving the file, I just rendered it out as an MOV. I imported it that way and it did not crash on me. It is still crashing now when I try to import the Animated fonts (the default ones). I think I have the project from H E double L right now. Something must be buggy in this project, because this has never happened before. Other strange things have been happening with this particular project as well.

    Anyway again, thanks for any tips if there are any,

    Vinnie

    I’m surprised you ‘ve not had problems with this before now… FCP 4.5 and QT 7? might be a problem there. don’t think they get along too well.

    Which OS? Panther? (hope so…) Tiger and FCP4.5 may also not be the best. I’m a big believer in staying pretty close to the OS that the software was actually written for. FCP 4.5 was written for 10.2 and ran fine in 10.3 actually… not tested on the newer 10.4 or 10.5…

    That said, it’s possible a clean install might help… but it’s time consuming.

    Does this happen with any other projects? or just this one? might create a new project file and copy all from current to it… Might also just try a different new fresh user.
