You can hit “K” 4 times to go to the fastest forward playback, that should pass through the timeline fairly quickly and identify any peaking.
In most cases, I use the dynamics filter with compression to each clip, so any peaking would be identified at this point.
For a quick and dirty way, you could normalize the master track.

Although, I think you are looking at a process that involves adding intermediate tweening frames. That’s a job for Twixtor. It’s very complex, and that’s why it costs so much.

You could take a look at the log created by AME.
You will need to enable the show hidden files and folders first under Control Panel>Folder Options
The logs are located at:
C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\5.0

The Hardware Mercury Engine will only work with higher end Nvidia cards as listed on the Adobe site.

Premiere has adjusted PAR settings to a more precise number starting with CS4, which adds those bars on the side when exporting to non square pixels. That’s really the only way to not stretch your footage in the conversion process.
They do fall within the production frame, and would not be displayed on a TV, but they do show up on computer playback.
The solution is to crop your footage in the export window, 8 px for top and 8 px for bottom.

Yes, but by missing, do you mean that it’s blank?
If so, the cause could be odd footage that was not compressed to a common format. Under field order, it should say “Use field order from file” and it should read either the field order, or progressive scan.
