    Hi Carlos,

I think you will find that many more desktop player support H.264 vs DivX.

If this is for playback units you are buying, then take a look at these, we have one in the studio hooked up to a screen for reel playback, works like a charm.

    Hi Carlos,

First let’s agree on one thing, DivX has only been popular for pirated movie and I most people don’t have the decoder installed on their machines. I mention this because H.264 is a much better better alternative in most cases.

You could get a copy of the DivX Encoder from their website (not free), but I don’t think you’ll be able to do a direct export from Premiere.

    Hi Bogdan,

The jerky issue could be a frame rate mismatch problem. Can you confirm that they all are the same. If not you will have to convert the original to a common framerate and replace in your project panel.

    Hey Todd,

The acceptable specs are on this page under TV and Video.

Premiere exports work fine for that as well.

Yes, SonicFire is Smartsound’s full editor, minus the Premiere integration.

But you can import videos into the application and match your music there.

    Hi Marcus,

That sounds like a lot of work. The best option would be exporting your final edit and importing that video into SonicFire?

  • Not sure in the case of Prores, but for most formats you would re compressing existing preview files.

  • Hi Keith,

In your export settings, you can choose to use preview files. In CS5 it’s a check box, in previous version it was part of a contextual menu on the right side. While this will vastly speed up your render if your timeline is already rendered to preview, it will essentially compress twice and that will affect quality.

H.264 looks good, but it take time to render to it. More effects like Magic Bullet can drastically slow things down. More processors and some newer GPUs can accelerate that process.

With both profile and level set to High, you should be able to export 60p. I don’t think 1080 60P ever was part of the Mpeg2 standard.
