Not much info there Homers,
Te only think you can really do with Premiere is make use of keyed footage.
For anything else, you’ ll have to look at After Effects or even 3D Apps.

That reminds me, why is Cinepack still around ?
I think an output on Windows Media at 100K might look better than full res Cinepack

These are DVD files, or more specifically, usually the video part of Mpeg2 files.
You could try renaming it as mpeg, but your best bet is to find yourself an M2V to Quicktime, and export uncompressed, I would Google it up, I’m pretty sure there are a few freebies out there. Even if the renaming part works, it’ s not guaranteed that it will be trouble free. Now I’m on a Windows machine, maybe somebody else will have a better idea.

I’m not sure where you are seeing the degradation. If it’s in the video preview area in Premiere, then it’s normal, at least until it’s rendered. You can change the setting to best quality (Small arrow top right of video in PP2), but unless you have a fast computer, the frame rate will drop considerably.

Drag your program window to the second screen while it isn’t maximized. I believe it will stay the same way the next time you restart it.
The only to have it maximize in the other window is to reverse the order of your primary and extended monitors.

I agree with Paul, that’s your safest bet.

To be honest that may or may not work. Sometimes the timeline will only show the first 5 minutes or video, depending on how it was encoded, also editing an mpeg2 isn’t an exact science.
If the suggestions above don’t work, just google .Vob converter (am I gonna get sued if I use the word Google without a capital letter ?) , there are plenty of free or shareware software outhere that will do that for you, and convert to uncompressed AVI if all possible.

Try a 21 inch at 1920×1080 and you’ll really start thinking you are getting old…
I think as more HDTV sets roll out, many people will also start buying wide screens for there computers and go to higher resolutions. Then web designers will start adapting their font sizes as well, but most still design for 1024×768, or even 800×600, still it will probably be a few years.
I make a big use of the mouse wheel while holding the Ctrl key to increase or decrease font sizes on websites. Of course that only works if the designer was nice enough to allow it, and then there are the flash sites.
If you donwload the latest version of internet Explorer 7.0 (Sill a beta but seems pretty stable), it will allow to zoom an entire page including images to a custom size, which is designed for people just like you and me 😉

Thanks Guys,
I was wondering how I could not have come upon issue before, hopefully it’s just a DV preview issue. I will do some most checking over the weekend using different export formats from AE. It may be an RGB to YUV problem as Troy mentionned, but a DV export for animation would infortunately not solve the issue.

One more thing, I don’t see that issue when I export to Quicklime animation.
Now I am on an LCD and without a scope, so I can’t confirm it, but I have a feeling that this maybe a DV issue.
