If your Premiere windows bleeds just a bit over your second display that will happen. Just maximize the window again, or move it slightly and that should take care of it.

Hi James,
You can actually purchase insurance for a single event, although I’m not really familiar with that kind of coverage, it’s usually worth a few months of standard coverage.
If you are doing events or working with the public on a regular basis, you should have liability insurance, a person tripping on a cable could put you out of business.
In most cases, you’ll have to go through a broker. You can call an insurer and ask for a broker in your area.

Hi Sam,
You can take individual VOB files from the DVD, and bring them into Premiere. That may or may not work depending on how it was encoded.
If that doesn’t work, you can try to rename the VOBs to MPEG, or you’ll need a DVD ripper that would convert the VOBs to something else.
Premiere only captures from tape.

Hi Scott,
You can select all your tracks in the project panel, choose Modify > Audio channels and set them to mono.
Alternatively, you can use the full left / fill right effect on your clips (fill left meaning that it sends the left channel equally to the right)

Prores export is Mac only with Premiere. There are a couple of workarounds outside of Premiere.

If you do a lot of Prores exports, it may be worth investing in a Macmini just to handles these.

Hi Jim,
When you relink footage, make sure you check the “Preserve interpret footage settings” box on the right side.
Other than that, I can’t think of any reasons other than missing codec or corrupted file.

Not sure how many inputs you need, but this little guy will support 24PsF.
For cameras, nothing that comes to mind in the EX3 range.

There are several bit rate options for each format, but in general; Prores is far superior to H.264 with both color and compression.
25P will improve the compression ratio over 50P, but if you do heavy color correction, or deal with more than talking heads, H.264 usually doesn’t hold up very well.
