Get a copy of Quicktime 7 Pro and export to Animation or uncompressed. Or try exporting from VLC if you need a free solution.

I doubt you’ll be able to display the date in Premiere. the only way I can see this happening is capturing the output of the camera it was shot in with the overlay turned on. What about using that camera in court and sending the overlay to screen?

Support for f4v is pretty sketchy, there are are lot of flavors. You could use VLC to export to something else.

You can use the timecode plugin and the pick the “media” option which will basically show the time from the original footage.
You can also do that in the media export window, first tab.

I think the complexity of many AVCHD file structures makes it more likely to fail. It works fine with P2 or ProRes, but start throwing in mixed footage and you might have a hard time.

You can right click on the timecode to change it from drop to non drop and see if that helps. If you drag the footage to the new sequence icon in the project panel it should create a new sequence with the correct settings.

hmm, it also looks like the difference is close to what a drop frame vs non drop would give you. You might want to look those settings throughout your workflow.

Hi David,
That would usually be a job for After Effects. If the video is completely static, you can open a still frame in Photoshop, cut out around the cup and make the rest an alpha channel, bring in back in Premiere and make it a new layer.
