  • Problems trying to get color replace masks to fit tight :-(

Hi from pitch black windy & wet York UK 🙂

    https://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc53/zymurgy_bucket/mask-divorce-problems_zpskvyat39z.jpg

The above link illustrates my problem but here goes. In abode pro CC I have had good success with the color replace effect to cover a bright distracting studio light reflection but…

I just cant get the mask to trace the shape accurately, I find it diffult because unlike photoshop I cant zoom in and I can thin the standard thick blue lines of the mask 🙁

So my question is: “how do you zoom in onto a small object you want to trace the edges with a mask and thin the thick blue lines of the mask so i can see what I’m doing”

p.s I have zoomed in with the 200% feature thingy but i cant get the grab symbol you get in photoshop to scroll to specif points in a zoomed image.

    Hope this makes sense!
    Grazie,David

    Hi David,

That would usually be a job for After Effects. If the video is completely static, you can open a still frame in Photoshop, cut out around the cup and make the rest an alpha channel, bring in back in Premiere and make it a new layer.
