    If I get a bonus question…

I am working with the mask. It appears that add/subtract performs the same function as invert on/invert off. How do they differ?

A piece of cake for someone who knows how to bake; at least I can follow a recipe (toll house, anyone?).

I now have my rectangle. Now I will see what I can do with it. One thing: when I hit shift, left or right arrow, my computer moves the vertices 40 pixels, not 10. Maybe it is something in my preferences.

    Many thanks.

Dave, How do I get the parallelogram the exact dimensions that I want? I used the pen tool and could not get it exact and do not see how to enter the coordinates numerically. Thanks.

  • Thanks, Vince.

I followed your instructions and did make the rectangle, as needed. I imported it into AE and did not get the result I was looking for. I think I’ll head over the the AE forum and see if I can get some suggestions there.

How do I convert AVI DV footage to QT DV footage?
    Thanks.

  • I wish they made a wireless numeric keypad. I find smaller, mobile, i.e., wireless, input devices create all this flexibility that helps. I am trying to submit that suggestion to them. I haven’t quite found the portal for that at their site.

  • PS The Kensington Mouse is for PCs only. The issue is finding one for the Mac.

  • Thanks, Walter, I’ll check it out.

I have the wired, Mac standard white keyboard, for when I need the numeric keypad. I have the small aluminum wireless Mac keypad. I have a wired and wireless mouse. I have a small Wacom graphire tablet, from many years ago. I am considering upgrading my Wacom to a model that includes additional keys, maybe the medium-sized intuos4. (I also have a large Wacom intuos2 tablet, also from many years ago; I haven’t used that in a long time.)

Do you have an other suggestions/advice? I would be especially curious to get you ideas about tablets.

    It is constructed somewhat differently:
    • I have a comp with a beam. The the position of the beam is unaltered. I made it into a precomp.
    • In the main comp, I swipe the entire beam (precomp) across the frame and it appears shaky as it goes across.

Does this change what you recommend?

    Thanks.
