I’m dealing with some repetitive-stress issues and have to be creative and careful about input devices I use. As we know, with AE we have to have the numeric keypad handy. Long story, short: I need a wireless, numeric keypad for the mac and so far I haven’t found one.

Anyone out there come up against this same issue and found a solution? Do you know of forums I might post on to find out? (The Apple Forum is not working.)

    Many thanks.

    Kensington makes one:

I haven’t used this, but I have a pile of other Kensington peripherals that I’ve been happy with.

Out of curiosity, what other input devices are you using? I’m bouncing back and forth between tablets and trackballs, but I’m always looking for a good input device.

Thanks, Walter, I’ll check it out.

I have the wired, Mac standard white keyboard, for when I need the numeric keypad. I have the small aluminum wireless Mac keypad. I have a wired and wireless mouse. I have a small Wacom graphire tablet, from many years ago. I am considering upgrading my Wacom to a model that includes additional keys, maybe the medium-sized intuos4. (I also have a large Wacom intuos2 tablet, also from many years ago; I haven’t used that in a long time.)

Do you have an other suggestions/advice? I would be especially curious to get you ideas about tablets.

I’m in the same situation as you — looking to upgrade my older Wacom to the medium Intuos4.

When I know I’m sitting down to a particularly vigorous session, I will put on wrist brace before I begin work. It’s low-tech (and low-fashion!) but effective.

PS The Kensington Mouse is for PCs only. The issue is finding one for the Mac.

It says, “Mac compatible” under Specifications, though it makes no mention of it under System Requirements. My other Kensington devices can connect to my Macs as generic HID devices, so perhaps this is the case here as well.

Reviews of the wired version on Apple.com are mixed, though. Why Apple does not make a full-sized Bluetooth keyboard is a continuing mystery to me.

I wish they made a wireless numeric keypad. I find smaller, mobile, i.e., wireless, input devices create all this flexibility that helps. I am trying to submit that suggestion to them. I haven’t quite found the portal for that at their site.
