    Hello Sam,

i have been testing quite a lot, and mklink works, but it still does not allow me to render on Sharepoint.

When I render it gives me error on picture viewer saying “unable to write file” although if I press it renders the next frame, but I cant be every frame pressing enter, it would be crazy.

I tried the render queue, but I cant bypass the error problem.

    Any idea?

    Many thanks!

    Thanks a lot Sam,

I have tried by using this link, but still not successful.

    https://www.maketecheasier.com/create-symbolic-links-windows10/

    i put on Command promt this : mklink /D “C:\Users\victor.camacho\Ogilvy\TYO-BAT-Creative – Documents\2020\01_07_alwaysOn_instagram\10_Creative\A_PROJ\3D\01_WK4\12_06_kenFurudate” “E:\projectsOffline\01_07_alwaysOn_instagram\10_Creative\A_PROJ\3D\01_WK4\12_06_kenFurudate”

but it gives me this error: “mklink : The term ‘mklink’ is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or operable program.
Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try again.
    At line:1 char:1
    + mklink /D “C:\Users\victor.camacho\Ogilvy\TYO-BAT-Creative – Document …
    + ~~~~~~
    + CategoryInfo : ObjectNotFound: (mklink:String) [], CommandNotFoundException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : CommandNotFoundException

Is this the same thing you did ?

    Many thanks

Thanks Justin, I do indeed always have backup cameras in the scenes. Do you think the i1, and so on could be added because that?

    Many thanks

    Thanks Brian,

will give it a go. Perhaps it is what you said about the output path. Indeed I have the same output path in the project and later in the Renderqueue. The reason is that sometimes I use the Picture viewer if I have one project only and the Render Queue if there are many. It iwll be a pain removing the output path from the project, everytime I require to use the Render Queue just to avoid this problem.

This just came to my mind, but it is possible to have several projects to be rendered in the Picture viewer?

    Many thanks

    Thanks Brian,

well this is the thing. I put the files with the same name and they are supposed to overwrite. I checked everything, all good, then go home. In the morning when I come back Cinema had added i1 , i2 and so on. Extremely annoyinng.

Is there any preferences to remove this behaviour?

    Many thanks

    Hello Steve,
thanks for replying. I am talking about Cinema 4d indeed, so I think it is the right forum.

I meant the render queue in Cinema. It adds a different names sometimes avoiding rewriting.

    Many thanks

  • holy cow!
