How much RAM, which system, which graphics card ?
I have only once seen Motion crash at all (only the app), and that was on an iMac with 1 GB RAM and 64 MB VRAM…

There seems to be good reason why Apple introduced FXPlug. One of the first filters for it is DV Matte Blast, and it runs very well!

Yes, I supposed it would be faster too.
But I’d like to know if it’s supporting 16-bit rendering, i.e. is it just about as fast in 16-bit as in 8-bit or significantly slower like the others?
Plus, does the 6800 support larger sizes than 2048 by 2048, i. e. can you import an image with at least one dimension larger than 2048 up to 4096 ?
It would be very kind if you could check this for me, it’s nearly impossible to get one of these cards here for testing purposes. If the two features I’d like to know about are supported by this card, it could be used for serious cinema work.

Unfortunately not, only for the X800. We may have to wait until Apple has a fix.

White text on black is a critical combination for DV – try to lower the contrast.

DV is not a perfect codec, it is reducing color-resolution and it uses compression.
This can be quite obvious if you have graphics with sharp edges and highly saturated colors. You may need to change your design for DV output.

My recent G4 PB does, I think all models with the GeForce5200Go will. It’s OK for some simple things on the road, but not really impressive.
Even the new iBooks should do.

Some collegues over here have severe problems with the X850, looking very similar to those others had on the X800 before the latest drivers were ready. Anybody seen such problems (massive screen garbage)?
