  • Wow, that makes perfect sense.

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. Just out of curiosity, would I need to make the entire background a video at that point? Im assuming yes, if so what would happen to all of my layers currently in the psd which I am using as buttons?

I know I could easily bring the PSD into AE and quickly comp the video in, but then I would be left with a flattened video and all the other layer information would be gone for the menu. Is there a way to comp video into the psd without this happening?

I do it all the time using the side side method. Works great. The tv’s handle it just like the broadcast 3d stuff on espn.

That helps a lot, thanks! As for not changing the name, Im working with a locked cut that was edited in h264 (not by my recommendation) so converting with the exact file name will allow me to reconnect easily. When Compressor adds to the name they must be individually reconnected to the FCP sequence.

  • Thanks a lot, I had completely forgotten about the ability to run the composite signal over the component out, appreciate the input.

Mark, it seems you’re familiar with the deck. For this situation, how would I go about laying off the 29.97 SD from the 5500? This would be tremendously helpful. Im somewhat new to this deck, a quick walkthrough would be awesome.

    Thanks.

Ive been reading about this ethernet san, and considering it as the best way to use those beautiful new iMacs. Would you mind expanding a bit more on how you are set up? At least from the SAN standpoint, Im looking to set up something in the next few weeks any tips on the SAN would be great. This is the same as ISCSI?

    I’m well aware of the layback limitations of 720p 23.98. I am trying to layback a 720p 23.98 sequence (dvcproHD) to 23.98 1080psf on a D5.

Thanks so much for your help. I think part of my problem is doing too many tests and not really knowing exactly what it is I am looking for.

That settles that- is there an issue with 23.98 (seems to be non-drop) the drop frame I need to deliver in? Will this throw me off?

Thanks Jeremy, it makes sense, and is somehting I have been doing here and there, but like you was hoping to not have to deal with that damn -1 shift, it’s driving my online guys crazy. Maybe AJA or Apple will release something that works….probably not though.
