That’s discouraging. How do I layback with clients in my bay if Im dropping frames all the time?

Was this ever resolved? I switched from Kona to Decklink and mountain lion and am dropping frames like crazy. Turning off audio helps but is not an option when laying off to tape. There has to be a fix for this.

Did you ever get this to work? I just received my Decklink Studio card and am trying to capture off a bluray I made a couple years back that has no copy protection, with no luck. Cant get a signal via component or HDMI.

So according to this I need to export a quicktime of my entire sequence and black my entire tape prior to layback?

I guess thats feasible but def. not ideal, I have many project of 60 min+ that have the client stopping me down during layback to make a tweak, creating a new quicktime each time they want to do so while they wait isn’t possible. Can this QT be a proxy?

How do you deliver masters? Impossible to believe all clients are accepting digital deliveries, unless you are extraordinarily lucky.

I get so much content from studios, shooters etc on HDCAM I am 100% stuck fully supporting a tape based workflow.

…..Edit to tape in 10.0.3? I’ve basically tuned out for last few months out of frustration, until I can reliably insert edit to SR it is still useless. Any update in this area?

FCP has since day 1 included the edit to tape function. I didn’t buy FCPX, but if it doesnt have edit to tape function you obviously lost something. Maybe I can just upload my masters to youtube?

Any 3D TV on the market today has the ability to tell it you are displaying 3D content, depending on some variables the television automatically recognizes it or doesn’t.

That said if you have properly formatted your side/side or top/bottom content, in your tv go to the 3d menu, where you can manually turn on 3d mode, and there is on the three sets i use (Samsung/Panasonic/Sony) an option to tell the set what signal your feeding (side/side, Over/under) once 3d mode is on, and you select the correct display, the set will process the image accordingly. As long as you have formated your output properly.

I have done this many times for screening 3d off an encore blu ray using a ps3 and a standard blu ray player as well.
