Hello Ben and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum.

You’ll probably have to use the pad switches on the Rode to keep from overloading the camera. Try a few test shots first and listen to them on a lap top with good headphones to make sure you’re not blowing out the audio.

You may or may not need to pad the zoom.

In a word, no.

The best thing to do to make it better would be to rerecord it properly or hire someone to do it properly.

It depends on whether or not the mic requires Phantom Power. If it doesn’t, you can try an XLR to RCA cable. The problem there is that Mic Level is normally below that of the -10 level jacks on a home system, so you won’t hear much

If the mic does require Phantom Power, you first need to buy an external Phantom Power supply or a small mixer with at least one XLR input that has Phantom Power. You’ll need a mixer with either a -10 output or a variable output that you can dial back some so you don’t overload the home system.

The thing about “clear” frequency blocks is that they may or may not be clear.

The interfering signal may be intermittent. So you scan, and in that moment it’s clear. 43 seconds later something changes and you get a hit. You may never get another one on the frequency the rest of the day or you may get one every once in a while.

Even if you jump up a block and find a new frequency that appears clear at the moment you scan it, there may still be intermittent traffic on it as well.

My laptop has two USB ports. I tried plugging in two audio devices once and routing them to Garage Band. It worked. YMMV.
