September 15, 2010 at 6:40 pm in reply to: virtual spokesperson for website – file type?If all you need to do is to provide the spokesperson with alpha, then render out from AE a format that supports alpha channel. Then you or the person that is actually doing the website can encode that to whatever format is needed. Like Matthew suggested it can be Flash or some other format depending if the site uses Flash, HTML5 or whatever.

September 15, 2010 at 6:35 pm in reply to: making illustration interact with footage in AEOne thing you need is to have the animation of the objects forming a sphere on layers- one for the part that is behind and one for the front. Also, if you want the objects to be in between the band members, have them on separate layers as well.
Here’s a tutorial that may give you some ideas:https://allbetsareoff.com/tutorials/after-effects-force-field/

You can try to apply Light Rays or Trapcode Shine to a layer with animated fractal texture that has a circular mask on it.

September 14, 2010 at 6:26 pm in reply to: Using a photo of a ball for CC SphereUse Photoshop to create a texture map for CC Sphere from the image with the ball- cloning tool and some imagination will do.
Or use one of the many free textures you find on google- marble will do.
It would be best to use Zaxwerks Invigorator to import a real 3d model of a bowling ball and texture that.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

You can use track matte just as Steve mentioned- duplicate the text layer ( in case you want to use the original plain text somehow), check the track matte option on the video layer that’s right under the text and you get text filled with video.
Another way to do it is have a separate comp for the text over a black solid and to bring that comp in over your video, turn visibility off and apply the Select Matte plugin to the video layer, choosing any of the RGB channels from your text comp layer to be used as a matte.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

This tutorial can help:
https://www.heroturko.org/tutorials/32337-maxafter-card-dance-effect-tutoria...Just create a grid of discs textured with the image you want to start from and end up with and fade that to the full image once the transition is done. You may want to use a bevel to make the discs look more 3d.

For smooth motion render out interlaced, with motion blur on. I do not think you need any expressions for that, just a couple of keyframes should do. If your final output must be progressive, then take the interlaced uncompressed render and encode to whatever compressed format you need de-interlacing. Usually this ensures smooth motion.
