The quality of your render is not determined by the machine but by the codecs and the software you use. A computer may be slower than another depending on processor/cores/speed and RAM. For encoding video for the web use Adobe Media Encoder or other packages like Xilisoft. Render from AE uncompressed and then compres for web.

I do not understand the problem- you have chroma in SD, you key out the color of the chroma and you get a subject with alpha. You composite that on top of widescreen bk and you get a widescreen final composite…. where do the black side columns come into the picture?

First thing in a project like this is art direction and design. Adobe Illustrator is a program better suited for that. Once you have come up with the look and feel, then decide what elements you want animated and break up the design in layers. Import those in AE and animate & apply effects.

If you have a 50 sec comp and your clips are longer but not the same, you will need to lengthen each clip precomp accordingly as well as any other layers associated with that clip (adjustment layers for example). When it comes to fx it’s the tricky part- here it’s where it depends on each template and the result you wish to achieve.

The most accurate way of doing this is to take the image of your turntable in PSD and distort and paint layers that can be used in AE to create a 3d box that will approximate the shape of it. You may just need 3 layers (front side and top) or you may want to get into details and build several boxes. Then you can play with the camera in 3d space at will.
Another way of doing this is to use Free Form and displace the image in 3d- it’s kind of tricky to work out a displacement map if you’re not used to it. This tutorial may help.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

Under Composition Settings you can lengthen each comp in part. Once you do that make sure you drag the end of each clip in the timeline to match the new comp length, as your clips will be trimmed to the original length.
As far as the effects and animation for camera, it depends much on what you need to achieve, the type of animation and camera moves- I guess it will vary from one template to another.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

Your image did not make it through, however, what you need is to learn about some basics in AE.
Rotoscoping would be one of them.
