OpenGL has always been an issue with After Effects. I for one would like to see it working for previews as well as rendering. For now though, I keep it off for everything.

You will find the answer for the Depth Map in the first tutorial I pointed you to. Point 2 describes how to render the Depth Map.

are your green screen layers offset in z space? do you have 2d layers in between?

search for any of the ipod light streaks tutorials – videocopilot has a good one- you can use that to create a 3d light ray and then animate the camera on top. You will need Particular.

If I remember well, pressing “.” on the numeric pad will play all audio in real time (actually as much as you have it setup in prefs) and hitting the “*” key will set markers.
If you want to preview audio with video in RAM preview, just make sure the speaker icon is not deselected.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

Same here- CS4 and CS5 on Windows XP and on Windows 7 and on Snow Leopard… no issues.

It depends a lot if you have a move that can be “faked” in 2d or if you require a 3d camera match. In the first situation, Mocha can help- here’s a tutorial on that:

For the second you need a 3d tracker – Camera Tracker from the Foundry, SynthEyes or Boujou- to extract the camera info. Then you can position your text in 3d to match the perspective change and mask the building that needs to be in the front, in order to comp that back on top of the text.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu
