Old post, I realize, but was having same issue. Al your solution set me off on the right path but wanted clarify a setting.

Allow Importing duplicate media: Should NOT be selected

Otherwise if you follow workflow above you should be able to import sequences without importing duplicate footage into new bin. Worked for me.

  • Just had this same issue. If all settings are the same and you’re still getting a green render bar it’s probably your alpha. Go to Modify – Alpha Type – None/ignore. My bet is that the alpha for that particular clip was set to black.

June 4, 2013 at 11:29 pm in reply to: generating peak file explanation please

Thanks for the response. I feel like it’s not performing properly because the waveforms are all built in the timeline. Its now just rewriting the files over and over.

Where is that pref. to turn off peak file generation. Thanks.

Yep, that’s basically it. Talked extensively with both Blackmagic and Avid. They essentially say it’s the other company’s problem.

Thanks for the reply August. You’re right, that’s exactly what I need to do, but the video output setting brings up my decklink control panel and in that there is no option to convert to 59.94 for playback. Not on a mac at least – on a pc you do have that option with the decklink card I believe. Coming from Final Cut I’ve always been able to do the conversion inside fcp – not with the decklink card. I’m at a loss. Can’t really even find any reasonable hardware options out there apart from buying a new client monitor that plays 23.98. Help a Final Cut convert out Avid users!

No. I don’t drag – I command u – once my video and audio is linked. I’ve been syncing movies like this for years-with no issues. I don’t know what happened.

I already reinstalled final cut and made sure I was up to date.

    Thanks.

I’m having the same issues. Did anyone ever resolve this bug with subclipping?

    thanks.

January 29, 2009 at 4:07 pm in reply to: crash report H.264 scalar

I don’t have that plug-in set installed so it’s not that. I was thinking that perhaps it was the media. It’s a 1:30 sequence so I exported each shot seperately. Exported just fine. It’s only when I export the entire sequence that it crashes. Right now I’m doing a work around where I export out of FCP current setting and then take it into QT to export a scaled h264 movie.
