I actually quoted the article instead of him, but here is his quote

“What I love about Final Cut Pro X is that it allowed me to be involved with, and in control of, every aspect of making our film.”

What does that statement mean to you?

He is saying this experience is different than the others. If it were the same, the statement would make no sense.

I’m sure he could have been involved before this point. He has plenty of skills or he wouldn’t be where he is. He just didn’t want to until he saw this product.

That’s what some people don’t seem to get about X

It makes people want to use it who previously didn’t want to be as involved with other NLEs

THAT’S what’s different about it. You keep trying to act like X is no different.

I quoted the director of the film. If you have a problem with the quote then you are calling him a liar.

I don’t see you as having any standing to do that.

I’m sure he doesn’t need you to tell him his craft at this point in his career.

Translation? The director found X so user friendly he could cut right along side the lead editor.

X came out right around the time I was beginning
To cut my doc. My doc is huge in terms of
elements. The organization in X has been wonderful.
What I have really enjoyed about cutting this
in the X timeline are the connected clips.

A doc is kind of like a puzzle. Moving things
Around to see which sections roll into
Each other best. I have really liked picking
up whole sections with a drag and seeing
How a section works farther down the line.

I have updated every time one came out and
I know you r not supposed to do that but I have
Had no problems with it.

I had started my doc in legacy but recut
The little bit I had done in X and have not
Looked back.

It’s different and I wish I had watched some
Tutorials first but I just jumped in.

It seemed so simple to me that I didn’t think I
Needed it but I could have avoided simple
aggravations at first.

It’s almost like the program was designed to
Do docs hahaha that’s just me guys

Excellent points jim, but I thought the new
Photos app was going to have organization
Plus editing capabilities with the added kicker
Of an option for 3rd parties to offer plugins.

To me one of the things I like about X is the
3rd party deal making it even stronger.

Could you end up with a much stronger app
Than you have now if that happens and what
Are your thoughts on the affinity app?

I don’t know. I’m still not convinced Apple was not some how in cahoots with Affinity on their new photo App that just seemed to pop up right after the Aperture news.

The timing was a little too pat for me.

The words on their page say “Professional image editing software for Mac”

Apple gets paid while people grab it off their App store and they don’t even have to develop it.

Seems like a great deal for them.

That’s a cool App that could make many forget all about Aperture.

I’m not sweating it. The way I see it, even if X went away something would pop up on that App store that looked just like it.

I used iWeb for my site for years. it went away and Everweb popped up looking just like it. I use that now.
