Had the same issue when i first got the Decklink.

I even downconverted the HD material in AfterEffects and recorded the file on DigiBeta and also recorded straight from HD Downconversion to DigiBeta.
I then re-captured to uncompressed….put the two files on the timeline and was amazed at how much the realtime downconversion does flicker removal and thus loose too much details.

I also checked with BMD support an been told that i cannot compare realtime downconversion with a software that has all the time to render.

I guess it’s done by hardware and cannot be fixed by a software driver update.

Do you have a supermicro motherboard? cause i have one with dual xeon…
If that’s also your system then it must be a bios thing

wooww might be render time consuming…don’t you think?
There’s a perspective shadow in AE but the same plugin is not working with premiere

It’s strange Boris or any third party didn’t think of this plugin.
I’m on a virtual program edit, everything is great on premiere except the shadow thing

Well i posted earlier that the antialiasing on the downcoverted output is so strong but been told that the guys were working on the PCI-Express boards at the moment and would get back to other things soon…

You can give it a try by opening an SD project and importing HD footage and scaling down by 40%, the output should look flickery but very high in resolution.

Hope we have them back soon.

I’ve had the same problem but found the solution…

Open a new 50i HD project and import the footage you have already and watch the SD quality now…should look great.
What i found out is that when you choose the 25p preferences you only see one field = half the resolution on the downconversion out.
It is a bug in the current driver i think.
So only use 50i even if your footage is progressive.

    Regards
    Tony
