Thanks, i got that, but I still don’t see how I can use that in the color tab in order to compare it.

Okay, won’t be back in the studio for about a week. I will get to it as soon as I can. Thanks very much for the support.

No Quicktime showing up at all. I see various forms of DPX, TIFF and OPEN EXR. That’s it.

    Thanks.

Pretty sure the 2460 is an 8 bit monitor. The 2470 is a 10 bit panel. It runs about $10K.

I know it wouldn’t match the published config. but could you not put an ATI 4870 or 5770 in slot 1 the Nvidia 4000 in slot 2. Use the ATI for GUI and Color. I’m thinking short term until we can get a dedicated setup for each.

  • To be honest, my comment about variations amongst monitors is based on anecdotal evidence. In discussion with Cinetal and other users of Panny’s as reference monitors the conclusions I came to was that there was no one setting that worked for all monitors and that is where the box-probe model seems best. I would love to get this to work and I think it’s absolutely necessary for 3D stereoscopic work where you need the larger screen to gauge convergence.

  • Plasma white point will drift even if you burn it in for 200 hours or whatever it is. Also there is bound to be a variation amongst different units especially in the consumer variety. So using some kind of box and frequent calibration seems necessary. And personally, I/O is a big deal. I feel the need – rightly or wrongly – to monitor HD-SDI. Still feel we need something like a Davio and pro I/O.

  • Once you add the software libraries yes. Thing is with Davio you can also load film LUTs, D-CINEMA (P3) etc So you get a lot functionality.

  • Wouldn’t you need something like a cinetal davio to ensure you were getting true Rec.709 if you were going to use this as a reference monitor. How often do you calibrate. Seems to me the plasma will drift.

Unified interface doesn’t have to be clunky at all. Common timeline, common media pool (bins), open tabs or rooms as needed – Color-Motion-Soundtrack-DVD(Bluray)- I imagine a iOS APP Builder application may be in there too. Don’t care one bit about USB 3.
