Yea, they have directions with them but generally you just put them in, turn em on for ten seconds, them take em out (um, after you trun it off is course).
Should have em at any electronics store or even Target or walmart.

Have you tried cleaning the heads on your camera? Get a head cleaning tape and run it for about 10 seconds. They’re pretty rough on the heads but a necessary evil with tape based cameras.
Just a thought!

My question is, where did you find one???I’ve been watching out for the release and am on the notification list @ B&H and haven’t heard nor seen anything yet!

I’m guessing you’re external is formatted FAT32. That format is often on externals as it’s the only one that works with both Mac and Win. Problem is, maximum file size is 4gig. When your capture gets to that size, it stops and gives you that error.
Best thing to do, if you only plan on using on a Mac, is reformat the drive (it will erase everything currently on the drive) using Disk Utility. You can then capture unlimited and your issue will be gone!
Hope that helps.

Try searching for some tutorials on using the three way color corrector and you’ll find some good stuff. Digital Juice has a couple good ones. They’ll include a product of thiers usually but the info they give is very useful! It won’t be perfect but you can get it pretty close.
If you’ve got a budget, you could check out Magic Bullet Looks as you can really dig in!!!
Best thing to do? Re-shoot! I know you don’t wanna hear that but now you now know how you should do it 🙂 Put them all in the same place and use a backdrop if you can.
Lastly, you could use filters to make every other interview look like it’s supposed to look different. Meaning a color clip, then B&W, then color and so on. That would be a last resort unless you intended it to be that way. It would work better if the clips switched back an forth between the talent a lot.
Hope that helps! Pardon the typo’s…did this on my iPhone.

Of you’re doing pro work and or working with HD, Final Cut Pro (FCS2 or FCS3) is a MUST! There are too many reasons to discuss…posting from my iPhone. Trust me, you’ll be glad you went with Pro!

I’m an FCP person who recently got Production Premium Suite because I wanted to learn After Effects and I wanted to have photoshop and illustrator as well as some of the other tools. I decided to check out Premier and it’s nowhere as good as FCP. Maybe if that’s all you’ve used…or you’re a PC person…it might be awesome! But FCP is the broadcast standard (that and Avid) and you’ve spent all that time learning FCP, why would you wanna start from scratch?
I’m on this forum because I have a client who uses Premiere and wants to do some editing, then send me what they’ve finished so that I can finish for broadcast and deliver it. It’s a mess! And noone seems to have any answers. He can’t even seem to output a simple DVCPRO HD file to send me. Too many weird things going on and even the guys at adobe can’t seem to come up with anything. After several test clips, I think I’ve come up with a workflow, but it takes extra steps and it’s a pain.
Final Cut WORKS and many professionals use it….even for Hollywood films. Even looking at these boards, you’ll see that there’s not a lot of pros on here answering questions. If you look at the FCP board, lots of answers! To me, that shows that it’s more prolific in the biz.
Now…I’m not slamming Adobe products OR Premiere! I love the suite and am dying to get proficient on After Effects as well PS and AI! And Premiere looks slick. But after opening it up a couple times and looking around, I’ll take FCP ANY DAY!
After all your learning on the NLE you already have, why go back and re-learn everything? That said, I bought the while suite, legit…but without manuals and box (you do get the DVD box, discs, and real/upgradeable serial)…for $790! Royaldiscount.com. Just search around on there. Manuals and tutorials are free all over the web!
That’s all I got man 🙂 Hope it helps. Sorry for typ-o’s. Posting from iPhone.

If you have LiveType, that’s your best bet. Super easy there! Not included in FCS3 but you can install it from previous versions of FCS.

You may also want to open that psd back up in Photoshop and re-export as .png and 72dpi, with a size no more than 25% larger than your frame size. No larger is best though. FCP is kinda particular about images such as photos and graphics. .png holds alpha channel/transparency very well. Just a tip!
