I’m guessing you’re talking about version 5.0.1 or 5.0.2? There has been a problem updating these on some machines. The only way I’ve been able to do it is to reinstall FCP5.

You can’t. Not unless you enter it in aux tc and display that instead of the timeccode. Or have had the reel number entered as part of the TC preset.

What are the full spec of your sequences settings and the full specs of your media? Are they exactly the same?

Make sure your Dock is hidden. If not, on a PB the screen size isn’t large enough and it doesn’t execute.

If you don’t like working with it as sequence, create an alpha channel in Photoshop and save the file as a flattened PICT, you’ll have transparency in a graphics file that doesn’t behave as a sequence.

Get Item Properties for the clip. Near the top it will tell you where the source is, or at least the file path where it thinks the file should be. Of course the file is probably not there otherwise it would link it. You might try doing a finder search for the name of the file it’s looking for. Did you copy the files from the disc onto your hard drive?

What the movie? How did it get into iPhoto? FCE is a DV and HDV editing application. It only works correctly with those formats. Stills cameras shoot in a variety of formats MPEG-4, MPEG-2, and others, none of which are supported directly in FCE. The material needs to be converted to a format that FCE can work with. You might be able to do this use iMovie (if iMovie recognizes it) or by using the QuickTime Pro player to convert the material.

You can create iPod video with FCP4.5. You just need to have QuickTime 7.0.3 installed. It has nothing to do with FCP.
