I was working with the FCE Apple Pro Training book tonight, had a project file open, and then went to open a project I was recently working on. When it opened it said two of the files were offline and the clips in the Browser had a red line through them. I poked around and found a dialog box where it said “Reconnect”. But that didn’t do the trick. It seems to want me to find the files to reconnect them, but I don’t know how to find them or even where to look.
    Any advice?

Get Item Properties for the clip. Near the top it will tell you where the source is, or at least the file path where it thinks the file should be. Of course the file is probably not there otherwise it would link it. You might try doing a finder search for the name of the file it’s looking for. Did you copy the files from the disc onto your hard drive?

    All the best,

    Tom
