Regen works by recording TC from the last time the deck wrote TC unless it has been reset. Most professional decks do not pre-read TC and write continuously from that. Consumer decks and cameras do that.

I think you have a PCMCIA cardbus on the 17″ Walter. I don’t know if any one is manufacturing an ExpressCard FW800, though there probably will be one soon. I heard FirmTek has or will have an ExpressCard SATA controller.

Only a very basic FCP project. It also depends on the version numbers of the two applications.
