Your camera doesn’t record 24fps. It records at 29.97. It shoots 24fps. To spread the 24 frames over 29.97 it uses a pulldown cadence. The standard cadence is 2:3:2:3 known as 3:2 just to confuse things.

That’s right. That’s what the 3:2 cadence does. Make the viewer or Canvas 100% and step through the frames counting the cadence. That’s how it distributes 24 frames over the fields of 29.97 video.

November 2, 2006 at 11:22 pm in reply to: Video and Audio Transitions with one click @ the same time? Is this possible? Like in Avid.Right-click on the edit point and when you those add transition it will add both a video and an audio transition. Or press Cmd-T and the Cmd-Opt-T.

It’s a mistake in the manual. The features not available in FCE. However, there is a free TC plug-in available.

In the sequence press Cmd-F. In the search dialog type “Cam B” and click Find All.
