  • FCE only converts first 30 seconds of project to WMV

Posted by Dunwoody Lampton on November 2, 2006 at 5:02 am

    FCE HD 3.0, PowerBook G4, 1.5ghz, O.S. X 10.4.8, Flip4Mac WMV Player Pro/2.1.0.33

After successful conversion of completed 2 minute project to QT movie, unable to
convert same project to WMV. Only first 30 seconds (exactly) of the timeline are
    converted each attempt.

Updated free Flip4Mac to version 2.1.0.33, tried again, same thing.

Bought Player Pro, unsure if it installs automatically upon downlaoad or if this
needs to be done manually. The system preferences serial number for Player
Pro did update automatically, but unable to confirm location of Player Pro
    in system.

Unsure if Flip4Mac has any effect on the WMV conversion I’m attempting,
or if it is another issue.

    Thanks in advance.

It sounds as if you only have the demo version of Flip4Mac. Did you purchase it and register the license?

    All the best,

Glad to see I’m not the only one up late (CST)!

First, I upgraded the free version, tried to convert,
no luck, just first 30 seconds. (I also tried to convert
other projects to make sure it wasn’t a problem with
the first project only, and had the same results.)

Then I purchased Player Pro, got serial number which
automatically updated in the System Preferences
    window for FLip4Mac.

After that, tried to locate Player Pro, but I guess it
doesn’t download with the serial number after purchase?

And everytime I go to Flip4Mac site, the only downloads
I can find are the free ones like the one I first had.
I guess since I did a search of my drive and couldn’t
find any application that specifically said “Player Pro,”
that means I must still download after paying, but
    how?

There are four products on this page. It says specifically on the page

Note: Player Pro does not export to WMV

Read the page closely and get the product that suits your needs.

    All the best,

I had to manually open f4m’s preferences and enter serial#. Annoying.
