We need exact information on what the media is. Open it in the QT player and reportedly exactly what it says in the movie inspector. Most likely the codec is not available on her system. What version of the OS is being used?

Drag the replacing clip on top of the connected clip in the timeline and you should get the replace options. Also if you have the connected clip selected you can use the keyboard shortcut to do the replace.

FCP doesn’t edit WMV. Flip4Mac won’t give you WMV input. It will allow you to create WMV from Compressor, but from inside FCP.

Edit your next picture on an Air. I’m not seeing FCPX in compatible with everything, but maybe it is. Maybe needs another T-bolt port to be able to pass through?

No, you can’t, which is why it’s awkward. You can line up other audio, but having markers at subframe level is often more a hindrance than a help.

Audio works at the subframe level. If you open a clo in the timeline you can shift the audio to 1/80th of a frame. You can also do it in the project if the audio is broken apart. It does make lining up markers awkward though.
