It’s not saving a new version every 15 minutes, but one new version of the event or project state, and it does it every 15 minutes. So there is no reverting to an earlier version from two days ago unless you made a duplicate project. Incremental versioning would have been nice. Not sure why it would have been more difficult to implement.

I didn’t think waiting till after NAB would make any difference. All that’s going to be at NAB will have nothing to do with FCP. If anything that might be the time to become the LAPremiereUG.

Dan is correct. SFCutters has not changed its name. LA changed its name from LAFCPUG to LACPUG. It was announced at the San Francisco SuperMeet.

According to Mooney, Prelude will send to Premiere using FCP7 XML. Not sure why it doesn’t use the same project type as Premiere so it can simply be opened by Premiere.

Maybe Adobé had the metadata panel, but it didn’t do anything with it. Al Mooney made it clear that this was a significant gap in the Adobe workflow. Prelude’s a good start, but it needs a good deal of work to make metatagging efficient, flexible, and easy. Right now it’s based on Premiere’s capabilities and doesn’t seem to expand beyond markers and subclipping and offers nothing like tags or collections or whatever you want to call it.

Download the transition content. Make sure it’s in a folder called Alpha Transition inside the Transition folder.

Download the Apple alpha transition content that’s on Mikey’s page. Import that content into your event.

Apply the transition and drop the Apple files in the appropriate wells. The layout of Mikey’s transition is the same as the FCP7, except for FCPX look.
