    John,

    Yes it is a 2k file–the file name has 2k in it. Here’s info on my Mac: 4x 2.5 GHz PowerPC G5

    Here’s how I do it:

    Hooking Up the Panasonic HVX200 (P2) Camera to an NTSC Monitor via Final Cut Pro.

    • On back of camera use switch above Media to go from P2 to Tape
    • Hook camera to computer via Firewire
    • Turn camera on
    • Use button on back to switch from Camera to MCR VCR
    • Go from video out on camera to video in on monitor (RCA-RCA)
    On Final Cut Pro:
    • View==>Refresh A/V Devices
    • View==>Video Playback==>Apple Firewire DVCPRO NTSC (720X480)
    • View==>External Video==>All Frames

    Just so I have this straight: I can bring the PAL file into an NTSC timeline–by itself, nothing else on the timeline. I then launch Compressor and go to Advanced Format Conversions and choose what I want to convert it to. Correct?

    Awesome suggestion! This got rid of 90-95% of the buzz. Thanks so much. This suggestion is definitely one I’ll print out and keep for future use.

    Why sure, in a perfect world, re-shooting would be the way to go. But that’s not feasible. Any useful suggestions appreciated.

    Yes. The sub folders were all empty–weird. Was able to copy the files from a backup I had. Works fine now. Thanks!

    Well, now that you mention it–I recently tried Boris Continuum Complete 4.0 on a two week trial. After the trial period, I deleted it. But BCC 3.0 is still available to me. Isn’t the Boris titler that is part of FCP separate from BCC?

    I’m using an external mic. I plug into input 2 and set it to record onto both channels. The switch is flipped to mic, not line.
