Mike,
If you install on a memory stick and move that to another computer, the registry entries that are needed do not move with the stick. That’s why it’s forgotten that you want to run it in trial mode.
I am afraid you’ll have to install the trial on the machine on which you want to ‘try’ it.
What is giving the 1603 error? Windows or the SONY Vegas installer?
Is there any text with it? Can you post a screen-shot here?Cheers for now,

April 8, 2011 at 5:59 pm in reply to: Just started editing with .mov 1080p video from DSLR- extremely choppy playbackI’ve had no problem editing D7000 footage in VPro 10.0c.
First thing I would do is to make sure your project settings match exactly the footage from the D7000 and go from there.
My system is:
Processor:Core i7-860 2.8 GHz
Video Card:nVidia GEForce 9800GT 1GBRunning WinXP-SP3 32bit, 4GB RAM.

There is an issue with “undo” and I have a case open with SCS support.
In my case I use the Decklink Studio ASIO sound driver and the most repeatable scenario is when I have ripple edit “on”, drag a clip and then try to “undo”. It fails every time.
If I remove the audio from that clip, or change the audio to not use the ASIO driver and repeat the failing scenario, no problem.
I should also add that the audio sampling rate is set to 48K. If I set it to 44K, no problem with “undo” with the ASIO driver.
You may have the same issue – what audio driver are you using?

Do you have one video and one audio track in your project?
What kind of footage are you using?
What did you shoot it on?Cheers for now,

Roger,
With a huge proviso that if you have enough resources, you should be OK.
I have done this many times with simple renders. The more complex your video – FX, mixed media, etc. the more resources you’ll need.

FYI – for a brand new install of Vegas Pro, the thumbnail display format on the timeline you saw is the installation default.Cheers for now,

Is the circled button pressed? If it is, then that is your problem.

January 8, 2011 at 2:44 am in reply to: Video/Audio already split when pulled to timelineWhen you drag a clip to the timeline in a new project, two tracks are created – one audio and one video.
The video track is uppermost and the audio is below.
If that is what you are seeing, that is normal behaviour. They are locked (move together if you drag) unless you have clicked the “Ignore Event Grouping” icon on the toolbar (Ctrl+Shft+U).
