Michael Litty posted “With this new update, however, the playback never smooths out. Even after a few attempts. Letting it play through once or twice doesn’t help.” Exactly my problem.

I’ve run into the same problem: trying to animate an image that moves along the x-axis, to simulate traveling through a tunnel. Just like you, everything worked fine until I tried to render at full resolution. I found a workaround, which may work for some of you. I made a YouTube tutorial for this. Hope this helps:

  • Thanks again Brian for the help. I’m just barely getting my feet wet with Cinema 4D, so there’s quite a bit of basics that I still need to integrate within my muscle and mind memory. For now, I just followed this tutorial to achieve what I was basically looking for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2iwU66bUps. These forums, and people like you who contribute, are the best!

I was having the same problem as you, and I believe I was able to fix it…everything seems to be working fine for now. However, I wasn’t able to find this “exact frame” option you speak of in the material’s texture dropdown menu. I’m using Cinema 4D R16.050.

  • Ok…I tried adding a floor and a sky, which did the trick. However, I’m importing this C4D file into After Effects, so the floor and sky are thus visible as well in my after effects project, which I don’t want. Man…I’m such a newb with this.

  • I’ve done what you say: rendered it out. It still appears with that same black color.

    Hi Everyone,

Wow! It’s been almost 9 years since this question was posted, and I’m just now coming along! I suppose we all learn at different times and paces. For those of you like me who are coming to this thread in 2015, I’ve created a tutorial video which demonstrates this process:

Just picking up on this thread now, 6 years later. Thank you for this expression! Worked wonders!
