I can definitely see it on the broadcast monitor. It’s obvious know matter what monitor I view the footage. It’s only happening with the motion settings. I tried a few filters just to see and it not affecting the sharpness of the picture.

I exported a comparison tiff out of FCP and took it into Photoshop just to compare and I definitely see the difference.

    Thanks.

I am viewing the footage right off the RGB monitor. The sharpness loss is obvious. I could see it as soon as I rendered the clip. I checked all the settings and it the same result no matter what I do.
If I zoom the viewer in to 400% and I can really see the difference in the clips
    Thanks.

They have requested a WMV file. It has to playback off the HD on a Laptop so they can output it to a 42 inch monitor. I do not have the access to the laptop other than what they told me; it was brand new and had a very fast processor. Basically I am looking for something safe to start out with. We can always redo after the fact. Will try to find out fast the processor is.

What would be a safe bit rate to run the movie?

Sony EX3. I can output through the AJA, that appears to be the easiest way. Thanks.

Files were not exported self contained. Will switch to self contained. Thanks you.

The Flip for Mac export in compressor let’s you set the bit rate, I am using 128 k setting. The Flip for Mac exporter does not have any seetings to boost volume. I set my output levels in FCP as high as it would go.

More info: The system they run for video does not accept a .mov format, at least it had not in the past. Most of the files I have seen on the system were MPEG2 and that’s what we always gave them. I did a test in Compressor with the preset HD MPEG-2 19.0 mbps. Just forwarded them the file and I will see if their system takes it. I re-imported it back into FCP and looks fine to me. Thanks for all your help.

I can use compressor, in fact that would be preferable since I may need to patch up 30 files. What preset in compressor would you recommend using. This is the first time we got asked to deliver the content in HD so I not done this before.

The one thing is we will only be using it for 720p at 30 frames, so it does make relatively small files. The 720P at 60 frames runs OK on our old G5 2 dual. We have a budget constraint for this system so I was looking to get something for under $500. Will do more homework.
